LEGAL WARNING:I'm not a clinical skincare expert, so consult your dermatologist for any drastic changes or issues you're having. I only give advice based on my own experience and research. A basic rule of thumb for taking care of wrinkled skin is the use of skin care productsfrom the thinnest to the thickestConsistency. Products with key ingredients and antioxidants should penetrate the skin first and then move on to thicker products like moisturizers and oils.
How to Layer Skincare Products - My morning skincare routine
I encourage you to get up a few minutes early to be consistent in applying your daily skincare products. However, if you are running late and only have a few minutes.Cleanse, hydrate and use SPF🇧🇷 I created the routine for you to find out what works best for your skin!
STEP 1: CLEANER
Using a cleanser in the morning is important because your skin is actually exposed to pollutants when you sleep in the comfort of your own bed. I wash my face with warm water and use itTula's gentle cleanser(use my code GYPSYTAN to get 20% off your order). If you have acne-prone skin, try this.Akne-Clearing-KitInstead of.
PASSO 2: TONES
Toners used to be those alcohol-based liquids that really irritated your face. But today's toners are packed with either gentle moisturizing ingredients to pamper dry skin or chemical peels to treat acne.Tula's PH balancing tonicworks well for a morning and afternoon routine. I dab it onto the reusable cleansing pads and gently rub it onto my face in upward motions.
STEP 3: ANTIOXIDANT SERUM + MOISTURIZING SERUM
Honestly, serums are the heavyweights in your skincare routine. These are highly concentrated, nutrient-rich treatments that address specific concerns. In the morning, L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is essential to protect skin from UV rays and environmental pollutants.
To attemptawardedSerum SkinCeuticals C + E🇧🇷 Provides visible anti-aging benefits, brightens the skin and protects against oxidative stress. As I said before, it's definitely an investment, but it's worth it! MY HOLY GRAIL!
AFFORDABLE OPTION: Dr. Brenner Vitamin-C-Serumwith 20% pure L-ascorbic acid, ferulic acid, vitamin E and hyaluronic acid
If you have very sensitive skin and cannot use the vitamin C serum, try the vitamin B serum. The Ordinary has an affordable asset:Niacinamid 10 % + Zink 1 %.
You can usehyaluronic acidDay and night. It's one of the best ingredients (if not the best) for hydration. It is moisturizing and soothing. Sometimes I find it compresses if you use too much - use sparingly on damp skin! Small things have a big impact.
STEP 4: EYE CREAM
From the age of 20 it is important to apply an eye cream at least every night, if not twice a day. Choose an eye cream subjectively according to your own needs under the eyes. I have very few under eye circles so I lovepink eye balm🇧🇷 Depuffs and brightens my eyes. I love her tooeye renewal serumClinically proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and puffiness.
STEP 5: MOISTURIZING
Once your eye serums and gel are fully absorbed, follow with a moisturizer to further prime and prepare your skin for the day ahead.Tula moisturizing cream for day and nightworks well. This cream is smooth and I love the fact that I don't need another moisturizer since I use it morning and night! The smell is clean and light.
STEP 6: SUN PROTECTION
Sunscreen should be the last step in your daily skin care routine. Find a solid SPF and use it EVERY DAY. I'm wearingBroad spectrum day sunscreen gel SPF 30.This is the BEST sunscreen for your face!! This has no white residue and leaves your skin so radiant but not greasy. With a non-comedogenic formula, it does not clog pores, leaves no white cast, is non-greasy and blends well with makeup.
MY MORNING SKIN CARE PRODUCTS:
The order in which you apply your skincare products at night
Like your skin, of coursefix yourself at night, your nightly routine should be about pampering yourself and giving your skin what it needs. An evening skin routine is a bit more extensive than the morning one. A typical nighttime skincare routine will be relatively similar to a daytime routine, with a few minor changes.
Tipp:Also cover your neck, chest and decals when placing products. Use excess product on hands.
STEP 1: MAKEUP REMOVER
Makeup remover wipes are terrible for your skin and the environment (Those🇧🇷 I wearmicellar water, which is a combined oil and water remover that uses it to remove dirt from your skinreusable padsI got it from Amazon. You just throw them in the laundry when they get dirty. Use these pads gently around your eyes and really remove all makeup.
STEP 2: CLEANER
Use Tulapurifying cleaner, I rub it on my face. I recommend the silicone facial cleanser,Minilua 2to penetrate all the different contours of your face for extra cleanliness. This refreshing cleansing gel penetrates deep into the pores to remove impurities. Probiotics and superfoods help nourish the skin without damaging or drying it out.
PASS 3: TONES
i use this10 % Pro-Glykol-Resurfacing-Tonerpost-cleaning. This one specifically has glycolic acid that removes dead skin cells and balances my PH. When I go out I useit is tonerwith 2% salicylic acid.
STEP 4: TREATMENT SERA
Like the rest of the body, the skin does most of its repair, restoration, and regeneration while we sleep. For this reason, most serums are best used at night. But instead of using every product in sight, only use serums that are tailored to your skin's current needs.
4. RETINOL: ONE TO THREE TIMES/WEEK
personally i loveRetinol(aka vitamin A) –– so important for ANTI-AGING!!! It's a powerful ingredient and can cause dry skin, so make sure you develop a tolerance for it. Start with the smallest amount of retinol, which is 0.3 percent, use once a week, and only use a very small amount, the size of a dime. This is another SkinCeuticals product worth investing in, I use thatSkinCeuticals Retinol .3🇧🇷 This product helps with discoloration, fine lines, anti-aging and more. Be sure to apply to DRY skin.
4b. GLYCOLIC ACID: ONCE A WEEK
I started addingglycolic acidto my nightly skincare routine as Glycolic Acid is an acid-based exfoliant that removes the "dead" layer of skin revealing younger looking skin. I talked about why I addedSérum noturno SkinCeuticals Glycolic 10 Renewto my nightly routine.Monitoring:Do not use retinol and glycolic acid together. Spin them. For example,I use retinol Mon/Wed. I use glycolic acid on Tuesdays and Fridays.
4c. MOISTURIZING SERUM
To further intensify your hydration, useOrdinary hyaluronic acid 2% + B5after retinol or glycolic acid. As I mentioned above, it's one of the best (if not the best) ingredients for hydration.and calming. Sometimes I find it compresses if you use too much - use sparingly on damp skin! Small things have a big impact.
STEP 5: EYE CREAM
A richer nighttime eye cream can help improve appearance issues like fatigue and fine lines. Look for a high concentration of peptides and antioxidants. I just discovered thisAvocado Augencremewith encapsulated retinol, niacinamide and coffee to brighten, firm, moisturize and decongest. I'm obsessed!!
* Update from 03/29/20:I also addedPowerful vitamin C eye serum to reduce dark circles.I rotate between the two! I've been using it for over a month and I love it. The texture feels so rich and luxurious! It took me about 2 weeks to notice a change but it definitely helps with the dark circles under my eyes.
STEP 6: LOCAL TREATMENT
If you're dealing with acne, the next thing you can do is use a spot treatment. I would avoid benzoyl peroxide which is not only extremely drying but also an oxidizer. Just make sure you're also using a full BHA - it's the best way to prevent breakouts rather than trying to fight them when they do occur. I am in loveMario Badescu Dry LotionSpot treatment is not too dry.
STEP 7: MOISTURIZING
In the evening you can use a richer moisturizer than you would normally use in the morning. I am in loveTula day and night cream, so moisturizing.
STEP 8: LIP MASK
Don't forget your lips! A fast lip mask is a must-have that I recently discovered. I like using AwakeLip Therapy Lippenmaskewith a concentrated blend of olive oil, argan, rosehip and raspberry seeds work overtime to keep our lips hydrated while we sleep! Gives you baby soft lips!! full reviewhere.
